MISSION:
To provide extraordinary and interactive live music and entertainment experiences to enhance the arts and entertainment culture in the city, add job and career opportunities for its' residents and provide a cultural hub for civic engagement within the redeveloping community.
OUR STORY:
At the age of 14 years old, growing up in the music industry in East Orange New Jersey, I had direct access to music mentors who had successful careers as creative artists, musicians, producers and actors in the music & entertainment industry. What intrigued me most about this interaction was the fact that these creatives grew up and received their start from the same city that I was being raised. Fast forward 3 decades later, the Entertainment and Arts culture in East Orange has changed and that nurturing environment has lost its presence. Live music venues have all been demolished and being replaced with upscale multi-use housing and office complexes where restaurants are being inserted with a stage in the corner for bands to provide background music. This tremendously dismisses the fact that East Orange had always been a breeding ground for exceptional talent with live music venues geared to giving creative artists a space and a place to grow and to develop. East Orange is where the likes of Whitney Houston, Grammy award winning Hip Hop icons Naughty by Nature, and newly added East Orange Hall of Famers, 14 Karat Soul made a mark as their careers flourished.
Wenark Entertainment Group was created to bring back that nurturing and family oriented entertainment arts culture. WEG has a partnership agreement with the NJ nonprofit "WE DREAM Academy", a music and entertainment skills and training organization that encourages, youth, young adults and adults to pursue careers in Music Production, Music Business and Entrepreneurship, Culinary and Hospitality, AV Tech, and TV Broadcasting. These are careers and skills in front of and behind the scenes that help shape great performances.
